Restore movement and function

Restore, maintain, and promote optimal physical function, while reducing pain and preventing further injury

Physiotherapy is a branch of the rehabilitation field directed towards correcting musculoskeletal and neurological problems that has been troubling and preventing an individual from performing an activity or motion with normal joint range of motion and strength.

Elite Physio physiotherapist’s rehabilitation programs will have several key components for this goal to be accomplished, preventing imbalances from occurring which leads to injury and degenerative changes in our bodies, such as:

  • Mobility: We focus on improving joint mobility, and range of motion, which can help reduce pain, stiffness, and tissue irritation that may cause inflammation.
  • Strengthening and muscle activation: Physiotherapists may use various manual techniques, or modalities to address muscle tension, weakness, or imbalances, which can impair overall strength, and flexibility. Strengthening the musculoskeletal system with appropriate resistance training, or other exercise programs will greatly reduce the probability of re-injury and improve your quality of life.
  • Flexibility: We provide exercises and education to help patients to improve muscle and joint range of motion to ensure that they can move through their full range.
  • Balance: These exercises challenge the muscular, skeletal, and nervous systems simultaneously which helps form the basis for agility, strength and endurance which is required for a complete rehabilitation program.
  • Cardiovascular training: Exercises that challenge the cardiovascular system are essential for improving heart and lung function and circulation and for increasing oxygen delivery to the body’s muscles, nervous system and various soft tissue.

The benefits of care

Get back to doing what you love, free from pain

Whether you are recovering from an injury or illness, physiotherapy can be an effective tool for promoting healing and recovery. Many different physiotherapy modalities can be used in rehabilitation to help patients recover from injuries or illnesses and regain their mobility and quality of life.

Physiotherapy has many benefits:

  • Helps reduce pain and discomfort
  • Promotes healing and recovery from injuries
  • Improves range of motion and flexibility
  • Enhances muscle strength and function
  • Helps manage chronic conditions such as arthritis or back pain
  • Provides individualized treatment plans tailored to meet specific needs and goals
  • Can help prevent future injuries or re-injuries
  • Provides education and support on how to maintain optimal physical health and function
  • Can improve overall quality of life by enhancing physical performance and function.

We offer physiotherapy tools and treatments customized to your needs.

Soft tissue therapy

This involves using various manual techniques or modalities to address tight muscles, tendons, and ligaments or improper joint mobility which can cause pain or tissue damage.

Therapeutic exercise

Encompasses a range of exercises and activities that may include stretches, strengthening or work or sport specific movements to enhance muscle strength, flexibility, and balance that will restore the body’s normal biomechanics.

Electrical stimulation

Can improve muscle function, increase the range of motion, decrease pain and restore normal nerve conduction by delivering electrical currents to targeted areas of the body. Physiotherapists may use Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) or Interferential current (IFC) to provide a gentle electrical current to the affected area to target neuromuscular dysfunction and to help reduce pain.

Heat or cold therapy

Can help reduce inflammation, swelling and pain through cold therapy or alternatively, they may recommend heat therapy to treat muscle pain, stiffness or spasms and promote increased circulation to the area being treated.

Laser and Ultrasound therapy

Useful for promoting healing by increasing blood flow, reducing scar tissue formation, and decreasing swelling. Can be used to treat muscle strains and tears, injuries to tendons or ligaments, or chronic joint pain.

Biofeedback / Neuromuscular re-education

Biofeedback helps improve muscle function by monitoring and providing feedback physiological responses. Neuromuscular re-education involves training muscles to work together correctly by providing visual or auditory cues to help patients use the correct movement patterns.
